About the founder

Meet Michele...

Michele Tchamkam, is the founder and CEO of Tropical Spoon LLC, a business and lifestyle with the mission of bringing the taste of Africa to America's table.

Growing up in Cameroon and Belgium have instilled her a perspective of culture while giving her opportunity to taste dishes from many countries. She then realized that products and dishes from her continent of origin Africa are unknown, nor available on shelves in Europe, as well as in the US.

She also noticed that cooking African food can seem fastidious for an outsider or even for a busy mom like her. Therefore, she created Tropical Spoon to provide a healthy alternative henceforth, relieve the pain of monotony in kitchen.

Tropical Spoon provides best quality, hand-crafted and healthy products, evident by the ethnic tinge in recipes and spices.

​When Michele is not busy with Tropical Spoon, she focuses on her most crucial venture: her family.

 

Education

Michele graduated in Mai 2018 from Umass Lowell in Massachusetts (US), with a BS in Information Technology (Magna cum Laude). She previously held a Master degree in Electrical engineering from Belgium (Europe). 

In 2018, Michele was certified business planner after a 12 weeks class in New Hampshire (US). She followed a food business module and obtained the same year the Food Service Sanitation Certificate.
